THE Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), organisers of the annual Lagos International Trade Fair, has explained that its decision to postpone this year’s edition of the Fair was informed by the economic disruptions, induced the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent Endsars protests across the nation.
The Chamber, in a statement signed by its Director General, Dr. Muda Yusuf, and made available to Brands & Marketing, recently, also explained that the Fair, expected to feature both physical and virtual platforms, will now hold from Friday 4th to Sunday 13th, December, 2020, instead of the earlier date of November 6-15, 2020.
“The Opening Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday 4th December, 2020 by 10am at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Onikan, Lagos, while the Closing Ceremony is slated for Sunday 13th December, 2020 at the same venue by 3pm prompt,” Yusuf stated.
He added that the resolve to hold the 2020 edition of the fair was in line with the need for quick restoration of normalcy in the economic and commercial activities in Lagos State and the Chamber’s support for the ongoing “Protect Lagos” Campaign, geared towards rebuilding the Centre of Excellence.
