Published by

Discover Ekiti a tourism promotion outfit has added another tourism package to its streams of innovative torus as it launches its maiden edition of daycation trip to Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) Planetarium series, an adventure to promoting Ekiti and ABUAD as choice destinations for space tourism.

Speaking to journalists after the session, the Team Lead, Discover Ekiti, Michael Peculiar Ekiran said “The focus of the event is to consolidate on the current drive of Discover Ekiti towards promoting Ekiti to the world as a choice destination for tourism, adventures & tours.”

“The journey, which started in 2019 climaxed with the Hike Ekiti Mountain Safari series aimed at promoting astonishing mountain tourism attractions in Ekiti State.

“Beyond mountaineering, one of the astounding destinations in Ekiti yet to be discovered by the world is ABUAD Planetarium, first in Nigeria, largest in West Africa and second largest in the whole of Africa.

“This is to show that Ekiti is full of wonders and Ekiti is a paragon of tourism,” he said.

While commending the founder, ABUD, Aare Babalola for his drive of establishing The Planetarium in Ekiti State, Ekiran noted that the edifice had helped in adding value to development of the state’s tourism ecosystem.

He, however, urged all well meaning Ekiti indigenes to emulate the founder of ABUAD by investing in Ekiti project, noting that Babalola’s investment in ABUAD has over time brought visitors from all over the country to behold the wonders in ABUAD Planetarium, ABUAD Farms, ABUAD International Multi-system Hospital, ABUAD Industrial Park among others.

Ekiran opined that if Ekiti could have just five indigenes like Aare Babalola, the IGR status of Ekiti would increase tremendously.
