Hard work is my efforts to be successful in all that I do. I learnt at the assembly last week that hard work means diligence. As pupils, we work hard so that our parents will be proud of us. I dedicate myself to reading my books in order to get first position in my class. I will work hard to become a lawyer. There was a day my daddy was happy with my performance in school and he took me to Ventura to celebrate me. He bought fried rice, drink, ice-cream, meat-pie and doughnut for me. People work hard to get money.

I work hard on my books by reading at the right time so that I can pass my examinations. I have heard it from many people that I need to work hard in order to be successful in life. They also told me that if I want to become “somebody” in life, I need to work very hard because that is the only way.

The meaning of hard work to me is to work on something until I do it well and people say ‘well done’ to me. The reason why I work hard is to be grateful to my parents for all they are doing for me. I also want to be great in life and people will be hearing my name. It is good to work hard so you can be rewarded. My class teacher once gave me biscuit for doing well in class. Since then, I always listen very well in class so that whenever she asks us questions I would answer.

I want to say that hard work is working a thing until one gets a good result out of it; for example, my test and examinations in school. It is good to work hard because it makes someone become happy and blessed, being rich. I play but it is usually after reading my books. At the end of an academic session in my former school, I came first among my classmates and my father was very glad. He commended and also bought a drink for me.

Hard work is when one is not lazy but committed to one’s work either in school, home or any other place one finds oneself. I work hard because it is not good to be lazy and it makes us succeed in life. Hard work is also good because one receives a reward. One day, my class teacher was happy with all of us because we did our classwork very well so she gave us all biscuit. On that day, I learnt a lesson to be fast in whatever I am asked to do.

Hard work is the act of being diligent in my duties as I was taught by one of my teachers on the assembly ground recently. Working hard has earned me the position of the senior girl of my school. I read my books very well in order to be above my mates. It is clear to me that if I do not work very hard in all areas of my life, I will not be able to become who I wish to be in life.

If a person does not work hard, he or she would be left behind by mates in life like it happens whenever we collect our report cards in school; a student will take the first position while another takes the last in the same class. It is not easy when one is working hard but it is good because one will become successful later in life and people will rejoice.
