A cleric, Pastor Enoch Durotoye, has said that the governments at the national and sub-national levels know exactly what to do to curb the spiraling nature of insecurity across Nigeria and make it safe for its citizens, if they were sincere about it.
Pastor Durotoye, who is the Lead Pastor of the Wisdom Christian Center, Ibadan, Oyo State, made this known during a press briefing in preparation for the church’s evangelical programme tagged, ‘The Supernatural’, which holds between May 7 and 9, 2021
He added that with the constitutional responsibility of ensuring the security of lives and property firmly resting on the shoulders of leaders at all levels, investing sincerely in the security architecture, both hardware, and software, is one of the time-tested measures any government could deploy to deal with the menace.
He said beyond providing funding for equipment, taking adequate care of the welfare of security personnel also has a central place. According to him, it will not only boost their morale, but also help them to provide for their family members and dependants.
“My heart goes out to every force man who wakes up on a daily basis to make sure he secures lives and property in this nation. For such people, there should be a right reward system; there should be motivation and their children and wives should be taken care of. Their salaries and entitlement should be paid as and when due. Their salaries should be one that should always motivate them to do the job and not just pay them something that is not worth taking home,” Pastor Durotoye added.
According to him, the upcoming programme will be held at the church’s auditorium in five sessions and have speakers from across the country, ministering life-changing messages to congregants.
“The programme has the aim of equipping people with the spiritual sturdiness to face life’s challenges, because man is composed of physical and spiritual entities. Hence our physical abilities need to be complemented by spiritual inducement to face the multifaceted challenges of life,” he said.
