Unizik VC seeks partnership with ICDL Africa for accredited test centre

Published by

The Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Unizik, Prof. Charles Esimone, has visited Kigali, Rwanda, to meet with the Management of International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) Africa.

The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the move is geared towards forging a partnership with Unizik to enable them to set up an Accredited Test Centre (ATC) in the institution.

Dr Emma Ojukwu, Media Adviser to the Vice Chancellor, who revealed this, said the centre, when set up, will enable the university’s transformation agenda of the Vice Chancellor for digital literacy and ICT skills for the 21st-century workplace to be complete.

Part of a press statement by Ojukwu read: “The VC will be attending the ICDL Africa Forum on October 25, 2023, in Kigali, Rwanda, to discuss Digital Literacy for All: Tackling Challenges and Overcoming Barriers in Africa.

“This will reposition the university’s academic non-teaching staff and undergraduates and postgraduates for a productive workforce through the efficient use of information and communication technology (ICT) that empowers individuals, organisations, and society through the development, promotion, and delivery of quality certification programmes at the Unizik ATC,” he said.
