The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have postponed the Global MIL Week 2023 conference until further notice.
The Minister of Government Communication and official spokesperson for the Jordan government, Muhannad Al-Mubaydin, clarified in press statements that Jordan and UNESCO jointly decided to postpone due to the current events in the region.
This year’s Global MIL Week 2023 theme is “Media and Information Literacy in Digital Spaces: A Collective Global Agenda.”
The Global Media and Information Literacy Week is an annual event organised by UNESCO to “enhance the capacities of policymakers, educators, information and media professionals, youth organizations, and disadvantaged populations in this area, assisting Member States to formulate national media and information literacy policies and strategies.”
