Two Okada passengers crushed to death in Ondo

Two people were confirmed dead with one other injured when a car rammed into a commercial motorcycle in Akure, Ondo State capital, killing the two occupants on the spot.

According to an eye witness, the commercial motorcyclist was moving towards the hospital road of Akure when the female driver who was on top speed lost control of the vehicle.

He explained that the woman rammed into the motorcycle and the two passengers who were badly hit from behind and died instantly.

The commercial motorcyclist was said to have sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The accident caused traffic congestion on the busy road as commercial motorcyclists blocked the road and blamed the incident on the recklessness of the female driver who was whisked away from the spot of the incident.

One of the motorcyclists said “the woman who drove the car was reckless and she was on top speed.

“In fact, the accident was avoidable but the woman seems to have lost concentration and rammed into the Okada.”

He however said the incident had been reported at the police station while the remains of the two victims have been deposited at the morgue.

Attempts to confirm the incident with the state Police command were not successful as calls to the image-maker of the command were not successful.
