Tinubu’s victory ends unfounded stories — Edo lawmaker, Idahosa

Published by

The House of Representatives member representing Ovia Federal Constituency of Edo State, Dennis Idahosa on Thursday said that the victory of President Ahmed Tinubu at the Supreme Court would put a final stop to all the unfounded stories on his electoral victory.

Idahosa stated this while reacting to the judgement delivered by the apex court on Thursday.

In a press statement endorsed by his media aide, Friday Aghedo, the lawmaker noted that he was not surprised with the judgement delivered in favour of the President, but that Nigerians needed to deviate from speculations.

The lawmaker said speculations posed a great danger to the very existence of the country if not checked.

While congratulating President Tinubu on the victory, Idahosa expressed hope that the judgment would help redirect the people and opposition political parties to the task of making Nigeria great.

Idahosa who is the Chairman, House Committee on Healthcare Services, however, noted that the division created by Tinubu’s electoral victory was unnecessary as everybody could not support same candidate.

“On behalf of the good people of Ovia Federal Constituency, I congratulate our president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his victory at the Supreme Court.

“With this judgement, it is my hope that the verdict has put to an end the needless bickering, distractions and provocation that greeted the 2023 presidential election.

“I congratulate the leadership and all members of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), on this sweet victory.

“With this final judgement, I hope we can now all put aside our differences and work for the common good of all irrespective of our party’s affiliation,” he stated.
