Tambuwal directs MDAs not to reject Corps Members

Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State on Monday warned Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the State against rejecting National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to their establishment.

The governor stated this at the closing ceremony of the 2021 Batch A stream 2 NYSC orientation exercise at Wamakko permanent orientation camp of the state.

He noted that government frowns on such attitude that causes unnecessary inconvenience and hardship to Corps members.

Represented by the NYSC State coordinator Mr Phillip Enaberue, Tambuwal reiterated that the major objective of NYSC is to foster unity and integration among the diverse nationality of Nigeria through the youths.

He assured that the government would continue to provide enabling environment for them to discharge their responsibilities.

“This is an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the state and nation at large,” he said adding that their performance can earn them special recognition and awards at the local, state and national level.

Tambuwal urged them to beware of some vices such as drug abuse, cultism and the banditry.

On his part, the State Coordinator Mr Enaberue commended the Corps members for their discipline and commitment throughout the orientation exercise and urged them to take the good conduct to their place of primary assignment.

The Coordinator appreciates Governor Tambuwal, Chairman Wamakko Local Government Area Alhaji Bello Gwuiwa as well as military, other security agencies and well-meaning Nigerians for their support during the orientation exercise.

Tribune Online recalled that no fewer than 1414 corps members comprising 714 males and 700 females took part in the orientation exercise.
