Bishop Ibezim disclosed this to newsmen during a special Eucharist Service for the fifty-eighth Independence Anniversary of Nigeria at the Cathedral Church of Saint Faith, Awka.
Delivering a sermon during the service, Bishop Ibezim added that the country has not fared better in the past fifty-eight years, as poverty, corruption, insecurity and religious intolerance have bedevilled the country’s growth over the years.

The Anglican Prelate noted further that only fervent prayers can salvage the nation from its current woes, especially now that there is a high level of insecurity, tribalism and marginalisation in the country and commended Governor Willie Obiano for his giant achievements in the state, particularly in the agricultural sector.
