Initial Rash: A few days after the fever, a rash develops. It often starts on the face and then spreads to other parts of the body, including the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Progression of Rash: The rash progresses through several stages The rash tends to be more concentrated on the face and extremities rather than the trunk. Other Possible Symptoms: Sore Throat: Some people experience a sore throat. Cough: Respiratory symptoms like a cough might occur.

Conjunctivitis: Eye inflammation may be seen in some cases. The illness typically lasts for 2 to 4 weeks. The rash is highly contagious and remains so until all the scabs have fallen off and new skin has formed. While most cases of monkeypox are mild to moderate, severe cases can occur, particularly in immunocompromised individuals or those with underlying health conditions.
