Sokoto: Gov Aliyu orders immediate payment of July salary

With about 11 days remaining before the end of July, Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has given a direction for the immediate payment of salaries for this month to all categories of workers in the State.

According to a press statement signed by the Chief press secretary to the governor, Abubakar Bawa, and made available to newsmen in the State, the governor also ordered the payment of July to pensioners in the State.

The statement explained that workers under the state government, local governments, local government education authority as well as those on monthly pensions are affected.

“The gesture is part of the governor’s campaign promises made to civil servants of prompt payment of salaries.

“The idea behind the payment of July Salary on time is in view of the fact that Eid-el-Kabir was observed barely three weeks ago and workers are now financially unstable, hence the need for early payment.

“The governor, therefore, called on civil servants to reciprocate the gesture done to them by being punctual and dedicated to work,” he added.
