Slavery is common to current generation —Cleric

The presiding pastor of the Highways Sanctuary International, Challenge, Ibadan, Oyo State, Pastor Joseph Olajimi, has lamented that slavery is a common feature in Nigeria, adding that those who have the interest and  plights of Nigerians at heart are no longer at the helm of affairs.

The cleric said this during the 2021 Altar Service and the induction of four members of the church as workers at the church’s auditorium, recently.

He noted that the newly-ordained workers had been trained for five months and are expected to add value to the spread of the gospel and other related activities.

“Go and work, watch your activities before God, abstain from adultery and any form of sin and do not mess up others, especially clerics,” he said.

Olajimi urged the church elders to allow the newly-inducted members to exhibit their God-given talents in the various departments of the church for humanity and the church of God.

He said he would continue to monitor their performance so as to justify their induction.

The cleric told people at the event to abstain from passive lifestyle and be courageous so as to experience God’s presence as well as shun immoral activities.

He commended all the stakeholders and individuals on the medical outreach  which was organised by the church and took place in seven strategic locations in Ibadan for its success.
