Nigerian Afro pop singer, Simisola Ogunleye (popularly known as Simi), who is unique for her fine voice is set to make a foray into acting as she debuts for her first Nollywood appearance in Kunle Afolayan ’s upcoming movie, Mokalik.
Joromi crooner announced that she has accepted to take part in the upcoming movie in an Instagram post showing herself flaunting the script while seated with Afolayan.
The post was captioned, “@kunleafo and a girl with a script she likes very much.”

The all-Yoruba cast movie, whose title is a Yoruba distortion for “mechanic”, will feature popular thespians like Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Fathia Balogun Williams, Wale Akorede (Okunnu), Dayo Akinpelue (Alabi yellow) and Ayo Ogunshina (Papi Lolo). Simi will be acting the role of Simi, the daughter of a restaurant owner.
“Visiting the mechanic workshop after about 15 years opened my eyes to a lot of things that I believe the world should know about our local auto car repairs industry”, said Afolayan who gained inspiration for the movie from his visits to the auto shop where he revamped his much talked about vintage car, Thunderbird Ford 1965.
