Shortage of staff in Oyo primary schools

Published by

Kindly permit me to express my view on the shortage of teachers in primary schools; there are inadequate teachers in the primary school sector due to the facts  that many teachers have retired, some lost their lives during active service while some quit the teaching profession for better jobs or greener pasture abroad.

We all know that education is the best legacy that can be given to our children because they are the leaders of tomorrow; primary education is the foundation of every child.

This situation is also applicable to the Local Government Universal Basic Education Authority (LGUBEA) staffing. Almost all LGUBEA officers in the 33 local government areas of Oyo State are not up to standard.

I hereby urge the Oyo State governor, Engr .Seyi Makinde and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) chairman, Dr Nureni Adeniran, to verify the situation and speedily do something on this matter by building new offices and providing adequate staff for LGUBEA.

 Akanni Oke Matthew,

 Saki
