SGF, Northern Govs, Reps, Ministers, NNPC boss, move to harmonise position on PIB, future of Nigeria

Political bigwigs and key public office holders as well as Traditional rulers across the 19 Northern States of the Federation, on Monday, converged in Niger State to deliberate on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and the future of Nigeria.

Some of the dignitaries expected at the high-powered 2-day retreat holding at the instance of the House of Representatives’ Northern Caucus are Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; Chairman, Northern Elders’ Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi; Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum, Audi Ogbeh; Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Muhammad Bello.

Some of the Northern State Governors invited are Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa and Chairman, Northern Governors Forum, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau.

Some of the public office holders who have arrived at the Royal Institute besides Zuma Road along Zuba-Kaduna road include Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, Executive Secretary, Northern Nigerian Development Corporation (NNDC), Tamimu Yakubu; CEO of Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Dr Hussani Yakassi; Executive Secretary, Petroleum Development Trust Fund (PTDF), Dr Bello Gusau; among others.

Others who are present at the meeting include Chairman, House Committee on Navy, Hon. Shehu Koko and Chairman, House Committee on Army, Hon. Abdulrasak Namdas.
