Senatorial ambition: I will retire from politics in 2023 ― Gov Masari

The hope to see their principal in the 10th senate in 2023 has been dashed when Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State told his supporters that he will be retiring from politics when his tenure expires.

He made this known in Katsina on Friday while speaking with newsmen to commemorate the Democracy Day.

His supporters had wanted him to contest in 2023 siting his wealth of experience as Speaker of the House of Representatives and governor of the state.

He said that he would be 73 years old by the time his second tenure ends as governor.

“After my tenure, I will sit at home and rest and leave the younger generation to continue playing politics.

“I never thought I will join politics; I was a technical man in the civil service and rose to managerial level and was later appointed commissioner two times.
