The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Professionals Council has congratulated the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on his re-election for another term in office, saying that his victory in the last Saturday’s poll was a reaffirmation of confidence people of Lagos had in his administration in the state since 2019.
Sanwo-Olu emerged winner of the governorship election held in the state, polling 762,134 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP), who polled 312, 327 votes.
The APC Professionals Council, in a congratulatory message to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Monday, signed by its Director-General, Amb. Seyi Bamigbade pointed out that the victory recorded by Governor Sanwo-Olu in last Saturday’s poll exercise was not a fluke but was based on competence and his track records so far.
According to Bamigbade, the plethora of milestones Governor Sanwo-Olu had recorded as the helmsman in the state had endeared the people to opt for continuity with a larger hope of more meaningful development across all sectors of the economy in Lagos.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s re-election no doubt is a reaffirmation that he enjoys a deep-rooted confidence of the people whom he has served in the past four years as their governor.
“He is a clear testimony to the fact that APC parades the best governors who have gone ahead to demonstrate capacity, character and competence in their various states.
“It is our hope that His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will record more beautiful milestones in infrastructural transformation, education, economic, sports, housing and transportation system revitalization,” Bamigbade
The APC chieftain commended the APC National Special Intervention Committee in Lagos which was set up to coordinate efforts to ensure the re-election of Governor Sanwo-Olu.
Bamigbade, who is the committee director of media and publicity, applauded the body for its efforts in discharging its assignments.
