Sallah: Soun of Ogbomoso land, Kalu greet Muslims

SOUN of Ogbomoso land, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, has called on Muslims to sustain the virtues of the Holy month of Ramadan in their daily pursuits.

According to the monarch, Islam is a religion of peace and harmony and as such, people of Islamic faith must follow the teachings of the Holy Quran.

While appealing to people at the helm of affairs to make life meaningful for Nigerians, the paramount ruler urged Nigerians to be law-abiding and steadfast.

In his Sallah message signed by his private secretary, Toyin Adamu, Oba Oyewumi congratulated the Muslim community on the completion of the obligatory Ramadan fast saying:

“As we mark yet another Eid-el-Fitr, I celebrate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on this occasion. We appreciate Allah for granting us the grace to witness this celebration.

“As Muslims, we must uphold the virtues of Islam by demonstrating the exemplary qualities of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) in our lives. May Allah give us the opportunity to witness many more celebrations in life.”

The monarch while admonishing Nigerians to embrace good moral values, called on politicians to lead their followers with the fear of Allah, adding that Nigerians deserve a quality standard of living.

Oba Oyewumi wished the Muslim Umrah a rewarding Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Meanwhile, former Governor of Abia State and Senator-elect, Abia North Senatorial District, Dr Orji Kalu, has also felicitated with the Muslim community on the successful completion of the compulsory Ramadan fast.

While urging Muslim faithful to sustain the teachings of the Holy Quran and the exemplary qualities of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be Upon Him) beyond the holy month of Ramadan, Kalu condemned perpetrators of a hate campaign in the country, noting that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable.

The former governor, who commended spiritual leaders for promoting peaceful co-existence among Nigerians despite religious, political and ethnic differences, admonished Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of selflessness and patriotism in their pursuits.

In a statement signed by his media office on Monday, Kalu urged Muslims to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr with people of other religious faiths.
