Peter Okoye of the defunct P-square fame, popularly known by his new stage name – Rudeboy has lamented the rate at which men of the Nigeria police extort commuters in Lagos especially Victoria Island.
Relating his recent experience with the police recently, the singer took to his Instagram story to narrate how he encountered them on his way to a club. Rudeboy who also noted that the clubs, junctions and places that lead to people’s home were where these police barricades were found, said “the police extort at every angle with no shame.”
He wrote: “I went to the club first time after two years plus, mehnn, for God sake, why is there traffic at 2-3 am? Barricades everywhere in Lagos Island, police extortion at every angle with no shame, at mostly club junctions and places that lead to people’s homes. Meanwhile, you can’t find them on third mainland bridge.
The singer, however, mimicked them saying, “Big man, chairman, big boy, anything for us?” He then wrote, “shi shi una no go see for my hand.”
