Rivers: Tinubu may declare State of Emergency in national broadcast today

Published by

Amid the escalating political crisis in Rivers State, President Bola Tinubu will address the nation in a live broadcast today at 7:00 PM.

The broadcast, to be aired on NTA and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), comes as tensions in Rivers continue to rise over the ongoing power struggle between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Although details of the President’s speech remain undisclosed, there is growing speculation that Tinubu may declare a state of emergency in Rivers State to curb the crisis, which has seen attempts to impeach the governor and increasing concerns over law and order.
