Retirees, corps members, others charged on utilising agricultural skills

Published by
RETIREES, corps members, youths and other beneficiaries of an intensive training on series of agriculture value chains organised by the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan, have been called upon to make sure they
utilise the knowledge they acquire at the training effectively.
Provost of the College, Dr Mrs Elizabeth Oluwakemi Augustus, made the call while speaking with the Nigerian Tribune during the closing ceremony, presentation of certificates and starter packs to them on the premises of the college recently.
Augustus noted that: “They should make sure that they utilise the knowledge gained here, they must also not sell the kits presented to them as starter packs, they should make sure that they engage fully in agribusiness. Through that, they can also feed their families and feed the nation at large and they would be economically secured.”
She further stated that the training and empowerment programme is pivotal to the mandate of the College, stating that it is a means of empowering people.

“This is the age that any institution should be very particular about job creation, food security and national development. And that is the key area we want to actually hang on as a College.”
