Ramadan: We need more of your kind in Kwara, cleric extols Sheriff Shagaya

Chairman Salman Shagaya Foundation (SSF) Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya’s consistent investments in human and community development are making impacts on the people with the show of love he enjoys from people across political divides, a foremost Islamic cleric has said.

“Shagaya’s philanthropy knows no borders. The love from the people is not mistaken. His Foundation’s commitment to providing relief for women, aged, sick, and petty traders over the years has been vital in putting smiles on the faces of thousands of households in the state,” Sheikh Usman Onikijipa said at Ramadan lecture held in Ilorin, the state capital, on Thursday.

He said his act of selflessness to the underprivileged play significant roles in fostering peace and unity in society.

“Allah gives whoever He wishes riches. We have as many rich men as the poor in the world. There are many of them from Kwara. He fashioned life the way he did to accommodate all. That is why the order of life is divine; the purpose is for the privileged to help the less privileged. This makes the society united, peaceful, and progressive. Those who are doing their best in this regard must be commended. The sheriff is one of them. We need more of his kind in the state,” the cleric noted.

The lecture was attended by men of the civil and socio-political groups from the state including political parties of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and People Democratic Party (PDP) Kwara State chapters.

The event was graced by Kwara government officials including Deputy Chief of Staff Princess Bukola Babalola, Technical Assistant on Agric Quawwiy Olododo, and Special Assistant on New Media, Fafoluyi Olayinka.

Others are All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftains; Alhaji Gani Galadima; Alhaji Rahman Giwa; Hon Moshood Alaka; Alhaji Gani Gogo- Alawo; Prince Suleiman Sai Kayi; Prince Shuaib AbdulKadri; Alhaja Kuburah Kazum; Comrade Musbau Esinrogunjo; Ambassador Ibrahim Akaje; Engr Dare Busari; Hon AbdulHameed Ali; Hon Tunji Ajanaku; Alhaji Funsho SK; Human rights activist; Mr AbdulRazaq Hamzat; and Hon Dan Seko among others.

Dignitaries from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fold include Alh Oba Ajara; Alh Yusuf Morocco; Alh Isiaka Labaika; Hon Hassan Gegele; Hon Tunde Raheem; Alh Saka Kutujifu among other elders from Kwara Central.

Shagaya assured the people that he would continue to do his level best to provide succour to those who deserve them in the state.
