PTAD, please pay my 20 years’ entitlements, arrears

I am appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba and the National Assembly to please come to my aid and intervene in the issue of delayed payment of my entitlements and arrears by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).

I was enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force on November 1, 1983 and was attached to the Oyo State Police Command Transpol, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Force No. 138207. And on July 24, 2000, I was compulsorily retired on medical grounds after I had served the police force for over 16 years.

The Oyo State Police Command through the then Assistant Commissioner of Police (Admin), ACP Emuobo Fred Ekokotu, on June 13, 2018 wrote to the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) to facilitate quick payment of my entitlements and arrears.

The letter entitled ‘Letter of Introduction’ reads: “F/NO. 138207 RTD CPl Rafiu Amuda was a police officer attached to the Oyo State Command. He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 1st November, 1983 and was compulsorily retired on medical ground on 24th of July, 2000. Ever since then, he has not been able to collect his entitlements. Kindly accord him necessary recognition to enable him claim his entitlements.”

PTAD thereafter requested for my phone number (08136491161), bank account details and last payment card, which I delivered by hand to PTAD in Abuja several years ago.

But since then PTAD had neither contacted me nor paid my entitlements and arrears, thus putting me in a difficult position that makes it impossible for me feed or even procure medications.
