Post-COVID: Bowen VC urges Nigerians to subscribe to virtual education

Published by

The Vice-Chancellor of Bowen University, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, has declared that henceforth the mode of education would be more of virtual interaction than ever before across the globe. He, therefore, urged Nigerians to adjust to the use of virtual teaching to remain relevant in the world.

He made the appeal during a chat with media in his office recently.

According to him, one of the lessons from the coronavirus pandemic has been that it has pushed everybody to virtual interaction, as meetings were held with Zoom and other digital modes.

He noted that Bowen University, with its online facilities, has embraced virtual teaching long before the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, which he said made the academic programmes of the university stable.

“Nigeria and the entire world will change in the way of doing business and our mode of education will depend more on virtual interaction. On our part in Bowen University, we have proposed to help our immediate community and willing minds in organising some short courses and training on online technologies at a moderate fee,” he said.
