The Zamfara State Police command have again rescued 16 kidnapped victims including a Stepmother, elder brother to Zamfara speaker and 3-month-old baby in the state.
Although, the Speaker’s father, Muazu Magarya, who was kidnapped with his wife, is still in the kidnappers’ den.
Briefing newsmen on Saturday evening, the police commissioner, Ayuba Elkana said it was as a result of security measures put in place by the state government that led to current success in the state.
“As a result of the current pressure put to the bandits on no food supply, no petrol and denial of access to free movement, police and other security agencies were able to achieve more successes.”
Tribune Online gathered that an elder brother to the Speaker’s father, Alhaji Dahiru Saraki was also released by the bandits earlier.
