 Police parade 48 suspects over alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, others

The Nigeria Police Force, on Thursday, paraded 48 suspects nabbed for various violent crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, cybercrime, money doublers to illegal possession of firearms among others.

Parading the suspects before news in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer FPRO, CP, Frank Mba, said that the suspects were arrested at various locations in the country based on credible and Intelligence informed by crack Police Operatives.

According to him, of interest was one suspect, Aliyu Suleiman, 26 years old who led an armed robbery gang, which attacked and collected gun from two police officers around Abuja.

CP Mba said stated that luck ran out of the gang when they went for a robbery operation at a pharmacy in Kubwa and were arrested.

He further explained another gang, led by Yusuf Abubakar, specialised in kidnapping and were responsible for the kidnap of one Hoon Mohammed Bashir Bappe, a member of the Taraba State House of Assembly who was recently abducted for a ransom.

The Police also paraded a gang of suspects who specialised in money doubling and “one -chance” by tricking their victims into boarding their vehicles after which they would dispose of their belongs.

The gang was said to be operating around the Kubwa axis of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja before the members were nabbed.

The FPRO who displayed the various exhibits recovered from the suspects including charms, assorted guns, live ammunition, and fake currencies assured that the suspects would be arraigned before the appropriate court of competent jurisdiction at the end of the ongoing investigations into their cases.

While reassuring the members of the public of the determined efforts of the Police to run Criminals out of their unprofitable enterprises, the PRO advised them to be wary of the antics of criminals as they keep introducing new tactics on a daily basis.
