Police donate cash to families of seven officers killed in Delta

Delta State police command has presented cash donations to seven families of policemen who were killed during attacks on various police divisions in the state.

In a statement by the state police public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe, in Asaba, on Wednesday, the command listed the divisions to include Nsukwa in Aniocha south council area where three policemen lost their lives, Umutu of in Ukwuani council where two constables were killed as well as officers who died during the attacks on Akwukwu Igbo and Ashaka patrol teams.

The undisclosed amounts of money were presented to the families at the police headquarters in Asaba by the deputy commissioner of police in charge of administration, Anyasinti Josephine Nneka who said the gesture was a token provided by the Nigeria Police community relations committee to the families of the fallen heroes.

The DCP who presented the cash donations on behalf of the CP Delta State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, noted that the donation was a demonstration that the efforts of their loved ones who died in the line of duty did not go unnoticed.

She advised the families not to give up in life, adding that they should do all they can to make their late loved ones be proud of them even in death.
