Police arrest suspected killer of military officer in Jigawa

The Jigawa State police command has succeeded in arresting one among the notorious armed robbery syndicate terrorising Kano to Maiduguri road who allegedly killed a military officer at Yelwa village along Shuwari to Gaya in Dutse Local Government Area in Jigawa State.

This was contained on a press statement issued, signed and made available to newsmen in Dutse, the state capital by the command public relations officer, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adamu, The statement reads: “Based on intelligence information, the command succeeded in arresting one Haruna Hassan ‘M’ of Dindibis Dadin Kowa Village Dutse LGA who is one of the gangs of criminal terrorising motorist between Shuwar to Gaya in Jigawa and Kano State along with the Kano to Maiduguri road.”

According to the statement “The suspect made a confessional statement that he took part in several robberies within and along Kano Maiduguri expressway”.

The statement further stated that “the suspect confessed taking parts in a robbing 19 passengers in a Hummer and robbed them worth of Ten million naira cash on 25th of last month.”

“He was involved in the recent armed robbery where one army major was shot dead and one private injured while travelling from Maiduguri, Borno to Kaduna State.”

No Evidence Arab League Sent Warning Message To FG On Biafra Movement

CLAIM: A Twitter user claims that the Arab League of Nations sent a warning message to the Nigerian government on the Biafra movement.

VERDICT: No evidence to ascertain the origin of the statement. The statement is not new as it has been in circulation since 2017.  Also, Nigeria is not part of the Arab League and there is no evidence that that league will make a statement about a non-member.
