Police arrest notorious female robber, 2 others in Delta

A notorious female armed robbery suspect, Bella Lucky and two others have been arrested in Delta State.

Officers and men of the Safe Delta, a unit of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) led by CSP Anietie Eyoh, arrested the criminal gang at McCaiver Market area in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The other suspects are two boys who are now cooling off their heels at the Delta Police Command.

The Police operatives also recovered daggers and some mobile phones from the suspects while it was gathered that the notorious female armed robber specialized in luring her victims to her criminal gang using a commercial tricycle.

The female suspect was tracked down by the police operatives at the weekend after she allegedly stabbed and inflicted injuries on a yet-to-be-identified woman.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa, confirmed the report in a chat with journalists in Warri.

“These were armed robbers who were using a woman. It’s not a question of a notorious armed robber. It’s a gang using knife, stab people and rob them.

“Three of them were arrested. One out of them is a very young girl,” CP Inuwa said.

He further explained that the suspect’s duty “was to sort of deceive passengers, engage them in a discussion before they got carried away and rob them. They’ve been arrested and they’re in our custody.”
