Police arrest ESN/IPOB native doctor, attackers of Imo governor’s house

Operatives of Imo State Police Command have arrested ESB/IPOB notorious native doctor who prepares charms for their safe operations and nine others who allegedly attacked the residence of Governor Hope Uzodinma.

This was contained in a statement issued in Owerri by the Imo Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Bala Elkana.

The PPRO said that the Tactical Teams of the Command through diligent and painstaking investigations, stormed Ukwuorji, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, LGA, along Onitsha Road, and arrested 65-year old Ezeugo Ordu, a native of Ubachima, Omuma, Oru West LGA of the state.

According to the Police spokesman, the suspect confessed to being a member of IPOB/ESN and made useful statements to the Police on the recent attacks on Police stations as well as Uzodinma’s residence.

He said that the suspect led operatives of the Command to the IPOB/ESN camp, a bush close to Njaba River where nine persons were arrested while planning another attack. The PPRO said that assorted charms were recovered from them.

Elkana added that two out of the arrested suspects – Chinedu Nwakaire and the native doctor, Uzoamaka Ugoanyanwu – were identified to be part of the hoodlums that attacked Uzodinma’s house and some police stations.

The PPRO said that the suspects confessed to the crime and also stated their roles during the operations.
