Women all over the world on March, 8 celebrate the International Women’s Day, a day set aside as a focal point in the movement for women’s rights after the Socialist Party of America organised a Women’s Day on February 28, 1909, in New York, United States.
This year’s celebration was marked by women with a series of activities which include concerts and conferences to fun runs and festivals, while others invited friends, family and colleagues to celebrate the day with them.
The organisers of the International Women’s Day activities have shown interests in forging a more gender-balanced world by raising awareness, celebrating achievements by women and to hold rallies for change.
