Pension racketeering is evil

Published by

Recently, the Oyo State Government warned pensioners to desist from patronizing individuals who collect illegal fees before processing their pension arrears and gratuities.
This is very important because this act encourages greedy civil servants to eat where they did not sow and deprive people that had diligently served the government from enjoying the fruits of their labour.
Another evil effect is that those that want to follow due process do not get their benefits; some that retired in 2012 had not gotten their gratuities while some that are connected or can settle and retired in 2016 had been paid gratuities.
This has caused undue suffering for retirees and the government should take it serious. Also, government should put a process of check and balance in place to ensure that pensioners have a way of making reports and complaints.
Pensioners on their part should not encourage the thieves among the civil servants by paying any amount as processing fee for their pensions and gratuities.
I urge government to ensure that its database is efficient, accurate and effective in order to be able to take proper care of pensioners welfare welfare.
Extorting innocent pensioners before giving them their due or causing unnecessary delay is devilish and an act of theft
