Pastor Bakare lauds Mimiko, predicts great future for Ondo

Published by

PRESIDENT of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has predicted a great future for Ondo State as a result of the mega primary schools built across the state by Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

He also noted that the outgoing governor “has made his marks that cannot be easily erased in Ondo State and Nigeria in general.”

He said Mimiko followed the pattern of the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, in the area of educational development in the state.

Bakare said he had never seen any mega primary school in any of the South-West states like the one in Ondo.

The cleric, who was special guest of honour at the inauguration of St James’ CAC Caring Heart Mega Primary School, Irowo, Akure, on Tuesday, said “I had been to Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, I need not bother to go to Osun and I had not been to Ekiti State, nothing like this in other states in the South-West.”

He commended Governor Mimiko for not allowing his mind to shrink even after the November 26, 2016 gubernatorial election in the state, adding that “it is only God that can reward Governor Mimiko.”

He said Mimiko had made his marks that cannot be easily erased in the state and Nigeria in general.

Inaugurating the project, Mimiko said “mega primary schools constitute a deliberate investment in education to tackle inequality in the society and ensure social integration.

“The best that can be done for our society is to ensure that the right investment in education is put in place.”

The Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, said that Governor Mimiko paid special attention to Akure Mega City apart from developing all nooks and crannies of the state, adding that “Akure and the entire people of Ondo State will ever be grateful to Governor Mimiko even after leaving office.”

Commissioner for Education, Mr Jide Adejuyigbe, said the mega school meets the UNESCO standard by all ramifications and that the results of the investment of Mimiko-led administration in the last eight years had yielded positive results in the national and international examinations

Ondo State chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and his Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) counterpart, Mr Oladele Akoko and Chief Abimbola Omoloja, respectively, commended the initiative of Mimiko in building mega primary schools across the state.
