The Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, on Wednesday, handed over a 33,000-litre tanker that was intercepted while conveying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) along Iseyin Road, to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

Two suspects arrested with the tanker were also transferred to the civil defence.

Addressing newsmen at the command headquarters in Ibadan, the Area Controller, Adamu Abdukadir stated that the handing over was a directive of the Comptroller General of Customs, was in line with the improved synergy between both security agencies.

Comptroller Abdulkadir, who gave a note of warning to those he described as economic saboteurs, said that officers of the Oyo/Osun Area Command would not relent in the drive to eliminate smuggling within the state, in consonance with relevant laws guiding the Service.

Receiving the loaded tanker and the two suspects, the Oyo Commandant of NSCDC, Michael Adaralewa, who was represented by the Head of Anti-Vandal Unit of the Corps, DCC Oladiji Subair, expressed appreciation to Customs Area Command for the synergy displayed.
