Oyo lawmaker distributes fertilizers to farmers to boost local economies

Member, House of Representatives representing Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo federal constituency of Oyo state, Hon. (Dr.) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (POLAM), has facilitated the distribution of fertilizers to farmers across Irepo, Orelope, and Olorunsogo local government areas of the constituency.

Speaking during the presentation, the lawmaker said that the gesture was a strategic effort to enhance food security, boost local economies and promote self-reliance.

“This initiative, made possible through the support of the Federal Government of Nigeria, aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of ensuring food surplus and alleviating hunger across the nation”, he said.

Hon. Mohammed also said that the distribution, which took place in the three local governments, aims to empower farmers with resources needed to improve agricultural productivity and secure a more prosperous future for the region.

“This gesture underscores POLAM’s dedication to improving the livelihoods of his constituents and contributes to the overall development of the community”, he said.

Also speaking at the event, the APC chairman of Irepo local government, Hon. Alhaji Moshood Tiamiyu Ajana, expressed gratitude for the fulfilment of POLAM’s promise to the party.

“This is commendable. On behalf of the entire APC members in Irepo, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Hon. Polam. May Almighty Allah continue to bless and elevate him. Polam Leekan sii! Polam nii joo! Momoda nii jare!” he shouted with enthusiasm.

“Through continued efforts like this, it is expected that the local economy will strengthen, reducing hunger and fostering long-term development across the constituency. Hon. Polam’s investment in the agricultural sector is a testament to his unwavering commitment to sustainable growth, food security, and prosperity for all”, he said.
