Oyo govt should make scapegoats of hoodlums

Published by

While it is true that the Oyo state government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde is doing its best to curb rising insecurity in the state in the face of the alarming rate at which hoodlums are terrorising the residents of Ibadan and its environs, it is time for the government to make scapegoats of arrested hoodlums.

The only sure and effective way to curb the menace of hoodlums in Oyo state is to make scapegoats among them by arresting and prosecuting them in large numbers without any delay.

The Oyo state government should not listen to anybody that may want to use his or her influence to secure their release after getting them arrested because we cannot continue patting them on the head while they go back into society and make life unbearable for residents.

I also want the newly appointed Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Madam Ngozi Onakoya and CP Fatai Owoseni, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters to lead the team of policemen that will go round every nook and cranny of Oyo state to flush out these hoodlums.

There must be operation flush out hoodlums in Oyo state. This is the time for the state government to declare war on the criminals whose interest is to make this state ungovernable

Barrister Jimoh Mumin,

Ibadan.
