The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State Command, Ngozi Onadeko, has ordered full-scale investigations into the situation which resulted in the shooting of one Samuel Akinsuyi, a student of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, on Eruwa-Ibadan Road last Friday.

The police commissioner also said the police operatives involved in the act had been identified and apprehended, adding that they were undergoing a debriefing which would be followed by orderly room trials.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, who made this known on Tuesday, expressed an appeal by the Commissioner of Police for calm, while she assured the public that investigating officers would carry out their work with diligence to know the cause of the incident.

She also promised that adequate sanctions would be carried out in accordance with relevant laws and statutes.

Tribune Online learnt that a delegation of senior police officers had visited the shot student, while he was said to be recuperating well.
