Oyo commissioner, Fakorede, announces maiden tech scholarship beneficiaries

The Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr Seun Fakorede has announced the beneficiaries for his maiden “TheSeunFakorede Tech-Learning and Scholarship for Youths” in the state.

The scheme, which was premiered on September 30, 2021, in partnership with the tech team at Utiva.

Fakorede, while announcing the winners said, “Out of the about 7000 applicants, I am delighted to announce the 22 winners of this robust scholarship.”

He continued, “As we all know, tech is the future of Africa, I’m very honoured to be able to help these outstanding Youth get started on their journey to a better, secured and rich future career in Tech and Artificial Intelligence.”

He further congratulated all the beneficiaries, adding, “I wish you all the very best and I look forward to your success stories.”

Among the beneficiaries are Damilola Babatunde, Ajayi Ibukun, Ibekwe Simeon, Tijani Olatunji, Chiamaka Gabriel, Blessing Oludele, Farotimi Tomisin and 14 others cutting across undergraduates, graduates, civil servants, employed and unemployed Youths.

Reacting, one of the beneficiaries, Ajayi Ibukun, a graduate of Law said, “Hon Fakorede’s efforts in uplifting the Youths is commendable, if everyone can imbibe this, we will all be fighting poverty and unemployment, I am really grateful to be part of this scheme.”

Another beneficiary, Simeon said, “I am happy to be part of this, kudos to the Commissioner for setting the pace again.”
