Our relationship with Nigeria a win-win ― Chinese envoy

The ambassador of China to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, has described the relationship between China and Nigeria as a “win-win” relationship.

He stated this while celebrating 50 years of the establishment of bilateral relations between China and Nigeria in Abuja.

Jianchun said over the past 50 years, political mutual trust between China and Nigeria has been greatly enhanced, traditional, the friendship between China and Nigeria has significantly improved.

“Substantial progress in our win-win cooperation has been made, commercial, cultural and educational exchanges have been further promoted,” he stated.

Highlights of the ceremony included honouring of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Secondary Education Board (SEB) Chairman, Hon (Dr.) Yahaya Musa Muhammad, with China-Nigeria friendship award, as well as cultural dances representing the two countries.

Jianchun further said Muhammad is among those who worked tirelessly and made valuable contributions to China- Nigeria brotherly relationship and so find him worthy of the award.

In his response, the Chairman of the FCT Secondary Education Board thanked the Republic of China for finding him worthy of the award, he said the award is indeed something he will forever cherish.

He said the award will spur him to do more especially in the area of Educational relations between the two countries.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Dr Ifeoma Adaora Anyanwutaku, said the ceremony is a clear indication that the cultural cooperation and friendship between the two countries is on the upward swing and soaring to enviable heights as the years go by.

She said the innovative strategies oiling the diplomatic relations, even in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, is indeed very highly commendable.
