The founder and CEO of popular Nigerian online TV, Kiraa TV, Franklin Oluwasegun Currie has stated that the goal of the TV is to have its own channel on DSTV, a direct broadcast satellite service owned by MultiChoice.
Currie disclosed this in a recent interview, stating that in the next five years, he sees online TV-owning its own channel on DSTV.
He further revealed that Kiraa TV, which started in 2019 as a YouTube channel, was created as an avenue to share stories in his own way, and the name of the TV was coined from the famous words of a Nigerian musician, Lagbaja.
However, he stated that one of the major challenges he has faced in the industry is finding the right people for the job.
“Lack of human capital has and will always be a challenge in this part of the world in our industry,” he said.
Kiraa TV has successfully recorded nine movies and a series titled Kaatachi. The TV is currently located at Ijebu Ososa, due to the original environment to make their brand unique.
