The keenly contested governorship election couldn’t produce a clear winner, hence, the declaration as inconclusive.
The Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Sen Ademola Adeleke garnered a total vote of 254,698 to lead the poll, he was closely followed by his All Progressive Congress candidate, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, who garnered 254,345.

Mr Agbaje commended the people of Osun for their comportment throughout the election process and announced that a later result would be communicated.
He explained that the election would unfortunately be declared inconclusive as the number of void votes were more than the margin in the difference between the top two candidates.
