Published by

Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday read a riot act to the newly elected local government party chairmen in the state, warning them not to fictionalise the party saying, attempt to do so, will attract the wrath of the party.

The Caretaker State Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun, dropped the warning at the swearing-in ceremony of the elected chairmen during the Local Government Congress held at the State secretariat, Osogbo.

He maintained that “you must not create factions in your local government areas. We have done the congress and you are elected, those that you contested together are still party members, talk to them and ensure that their corporation.

“I urge you to live to the dictates of your oaths of office and I want to believe that your watchword and your guard is the constitution of the party. I want to urge you to be faithful to party members and all leaders of the party must be respected.

“I want you to put your hands on deck. We are in the election year, Osun governorship election is less than a year and we need you to galvanise the party behind the governor and leaders of the party.

“At your local government areas, you must know each polling unit especially the new ones that have just been created. You need to work seriously with stakeholders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and many others. You must give the community support and attend community assignments with hour local government.”

He also charged them to work assiduously for the progress of the party in their respective local councils to ensure its victory at the poll in the forthcoming 2022 local government election in the state.
