Ortom calls on security operatives to fish out killers of two pastors

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Sunday called on security operatives in the state to promptly fish out killers of two pastors  killed in Ochoro community in Konshisha local government area of the state.

The  pastors, identified as Moses Ijoko and Emmanuel Alele were reportedly killed last week by suspected Bonta militias.

The men of God were said to be riding on their motorcyles to Oju local government for medical attention when they were ambushed and killed and their motorcyles taken away.

It will be recalled that the land dispute between Konshisha and Oju local government areas have taken dangerous dimension recently with the killings of twelve soldiers by  Bonta militias.

Same suspected Bonta militias in July this year allegedly invaded Ochoro community attacked the residents and held in captive a four year old boy who was later released.

Governor Ortom condemned the killing  of the two  pastors in a statement issued by his spokesman, Terver Akase  described the incident as ‘unacceptable’.

The governor called on the Chairman of Konshisha Local Government and other stakeholders in the area to ensure that the killers and their sponsors are apprehended to face justice.

Governor Ortom  warned those jeopardizing his administration’s efforts to end the crisis between Konshisha and Oju that they would not escape justice, no matter highly place they may be.

He  reaffirmed the resolve of his administration not to surrender the State to criminals and appealed to Benue people to support security agencies with timely and useful information to enable them to succeed.

The governor called on the people of the area to remain calm and gives assurance that the boundary between Bonta and Ukpute will soon be demarcated as the committee set up to facilitate the demarcation has concluded arrangements for the process.
