Orezi floats ‘Ghen Ghen Music’

Orezi has announced a new music record company named Gehn Gehn Music’. According to a press statement, Gehn Gehn Music is an all-around entertainment company aimed at changing the business of music in Nigeria.”

Orezi plans to use his company as a platform to create better opportunities for upcoming music talents in Nigeria.

“This company is for me and every upcoming artiste out there, Gehn Gehn Music will be signing artistes in the nearest future,” he said. Orezi has been in the music industry for almost a decade, with hits such as ‘Rihanna’, ‘Shoki’. He believes this is the next step for his career.

“Thanks to Sprisal Entertainment and Culbeed Music which helped in shaping me over the years to who I am today,” he said.

 

Orezi: Biography

That Ghenghen guy, as he is fondly called though with real name Esegine Allen, born on 28 March, 1986 and popularly known by his stage name Orezi, is a Nigerian musician from the south south region of Nigeria, Owhelogbo, Isoko, Delta State precisely. He is from a family of seven and he is the first of parents.

Orezi’s popularity grew with the release of his hit song  “Rihanna” in 2013.

He attended Command Secondary School in Abakaliki and the University of Lagos after which he went to the mandatory one year NYSC program

In 2009 Orezi kick-started his music career and this has made him work with some of Nigeria’s top 10 music producers like Del B, Kiddominant and Dokta Frabz.

The Ogede hit song maker’s first musical release was “I No Fit Lie”. The song upon being sent to various media houses in Nigeria, received positive acknowledgements from the general public. The music video of the song was shot in South Africa. One of Nigeria’s biggest radio stations (Radio Continental) even had to use the song as their theme. In 2010, Orezi released another song tiltled “High B.P”. The music video for the song was endorsed by MTV Base and in the same year, Orezi released another single titled “Jamilaya”, featuring UK disk jockey DJ JamJam. Like its predecessors, the song received positive accolades from music fans and music pundits across Nigeria.

Orezi continued to fine tune  his talent and style and has till date grown to be a force to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry.In March and September 2014, Orezi released the French version of his single “Shoki” as well as the music video for his “You Garrit” single respectively. The hit song ‘Shoki’ was a controversial one in Nigeria, Orezi claimed he was the original owner of the song and the dance steps that came with the song. Lil Kesh also came out with his shoki remix version, a song that featured music stars Olamide and Davido. Other cameos in the video include YBNL underground artistes and HKN Gang.

In September 2015, Orezi released his debut album titled ‘Ghen Ghen’, featuring collaborations with 9ice, Davido, Flavour, Ice Prince, M.I Abaga, Timaya and Wizkid. The album was rated 3.0 (worth checking out) on a scale of 5 by Pulse NG.

In November 2015, Orezi released the music video for his hit single “Ogede” featuring Wizkid and Timaya.

In 2016 he released another single ‘Double Your Hustle’ a song which talks about not giving up in life, persistency and believing in what one does. The song basically talks about his life while growing up. Orezi did not stop at that. His pace and consistency in the music scene has kept his relevance and net worth and with this new label and fans say his expansion in the music scene.
