Published by

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi issued a proclamation at his Palace in Ile-Ife, on Wednesday, declaring September 11 as Omoluabi Day, a day set aside by Goldberg, to properly recognize and laud the efforts of industrious sons and daughters from the southwest region, commonly known as Omoluabis.

This yearly commemoration makes its debut on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Speaking at the announcement, the Ooni acknowledged Goldberg‘s role in promoting the culture and celebrating the Yorubas over the years.

“I am proud to support an event that places true sons and daughters of the soil on a deserved pedestal. It is my honour to announce that I will, with the rest of the Omoluabis around the world, mark the occasion annually.”

“There is no gainsaying where Goldberg stands in matters that concern culture preservation and celebration of the good people of the land. I’ve observed their various engagements to empower people through their various initiatives.” He said.

Additionally, the National Trade Marketing Manager, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Funsho Ayeni has also announced the extension of its economic empowerment platform, Isedowo, to online channels to support entrepreneurs with non-refundable grants. Recently, it disbursed over N20,000,000 through the platform in the bars and online.

“Through programs like Ariya Repete that celebrate indigenous music and talents to Isedowo that disburse grants to entrepreneurs in the southwest region, the Goldberg brand has become synonymous with people and culture.

“To further amplify the core values of the brand, we are indeed excited to receive the support of Ooni of Ife to launch the Goldberg Omoluabi Day. It is a day where our consumers who have stayed true to our tradition of hard work and good character will be recognised and celebrated,” said Ayeni.
