Ondo APC members re-elect Adetinmehin, others

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, on Saturday unanimously re-elected Hon. Ade Adetimehin as its chairman.

Adetimehin who was first elected as the APC Chairman in 2018 was re-elected with other elected officers of the party through concensus arrangement.

Others returned elected officers of the party include, Alex Kalejaiye as Publicity Secretary, Mrs Morenike Whitterspoon as state Woman Leader and Ali Adesina as State Secretary.

They were all elected through a voice vote even though arrangement were made for the APC members to cast their votes.

The Chairman of the Ondo APC congress committee, Hon. Komsol Longap, commended members of the party in the state for setting the pace in the conduct of peaceful congresses.

He said, “This is one of the most peaceful Congress in the country. The confidence reposed on these Executives I believe it will continue. That is what we want in the APC.”

A Chieftain of the party in the state, Chief Olusola Oke moved the motion for the adoption of consensus method to be used in the congress while Chief Jimoh Ekungba, a member of the APC Board of  Trustee moved the motion for those picked through consensus to be adopted as elected executives.

The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, said the party members have affirmed their support for party supremacy.

“In Ondo, we all believe in one party. We believe in cohesion. We are under one party. The Governor trust us to be one united family.” she said.

In his speech, Adetimehin promised to work harder to ensure further cohesion within the party while he assured that members of the part will always be carried along on the development within the party.

He attributed the peace within the party to the confidence reposed in the executive of the party and pledged that “I will continue to unite and promote the interest of the party with the last atom of strength in me.

“The outcome showed that you must be hardworking. Once you are hardworking people will stand by you. I will not disappoint Ondo APC members. I will double my effort to serve the party more.

“We will not disappoint the party. This party is ours. We will continue to celebrate victory in Ondo APC,” he said.
