On Prof Isiaq Oloyede’s reappointment

Professor Isiaq Oloyede has been reappointed for another term as the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). This is good.

Oloyede took over the leadership of the government agency when spiritual snakes were swallowing millions of naira and missing scratch cards allegedly burnt in unknown cars were discovered to have been used but with no record of returns from their sales.

The agency, before Oloyede took over only remitted N50m to government coffers in more than five years while it still got allocations from government.

On resumption, Oloyede declared that the agency could be self sustaining. And in eight months of his leadership, he remitted N7bn to government. It was a feat never attained in the history of the agency. He has been remitting funds to government ever since. He also reduced the amount payable by prospective ‘Jambites’. He has been named as ‘man of the year’ by the ‘Hoi polloi’.

He is a man of Integrity. We enjoin other office holders to emulate Professor Isiaq Oloyede just as we congratulate him on his reappointment as the Registrar of JAMB
