When I saw how Sheikh Gumi defended Dr Isa Pantami on terrorism, I shook my head at the disservice. It is true that the likes of Gumi are misrepresenting the north.
It is not about his solidarity with herdsmen that bring him out badly but most of his intervention and communication style on national issues are pedestrian, gibberish, reckless, faulty and puts a question on his intellect as a medical doctor or role as ‘helper’.
People like him are worsening the crises. But, he is not alone. What do we think of the labeled attacks on police in the South-East as being perpetrated by unknown gunmen but elsewhere, they are called herdsmen?
