On Adelabu’s qualities

Published by

Leaders are not made of oaks and rocks; one doesn’t have to get a degree in petrology to know a leader. As Ralph Wado Emerson says “every great institution is a shadow of a single man.” Here is a leader per excellence whose ability to reflect hastily and handle challenges with perception has resulted in his business ventures spreading wide like an inferno in wood land and translating vision into reality. He is a leader who takes care of little mistakes, reflects and acts. That he rose to the top can only spring surprises to those who are caught unawares with his “Midas touch”.

When he lost the political contest, many thought that it would come as a “faithless misfortune” but surprisingly, he rather saw it as an “investment into the future” like a restless eagle that fares well in turbulent weather. He has never seen failure as final. He sees it as part of the learning curve to be better and more mature. He believes and always encourages others that” we should not to be consumed with the past when the future holds more opportunities for us”.

Adelabu Adebayo is a star whose source of happiness, in the words of Friedrich Nietsche, is rooted in those on whom he shines. He doesn’t share Marxist believe in each one according to his needs. He shares his wealth and as G Marcel says “ exist to coexist.” He builds happiness in the souls of the people.

Like his grandfather, the man of panache, the late Adegoke Adelabu, Adebayo’s best moment is when he is in the midst of his people. His only turn off is intolerable insolence, to him everybody matters; this is why the Adelabu foundation has continued to be a beehive of activities where the old and the young go to fulfill their aspirations.

He inspires others to be better. Today is not to write an epistle about the sterling qualities of Adelabu Adebayo.  It’s a glorious day to be thankful to God for giving mankind this gift, it’s a day that Billy Collins in his famous Sonnet describes as “a day that Laura will tell Petriarch to put down his pen and sing to the glory of God.”
